Unpopular opinion: Bring back the Dodge Exploit

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 03:52 PM PST

If it wasn't clear to you Hirez, players would much rather take a loss immediately losing TP rather than spend 10-20 minutes in a game wanting to pull their hair out because their team decides to pick no tank or healer. Make these guys play right and if they don't let us leave. Fix your MM, i am sure players would much rather wait for a good fair game than to deal with trolls, you literally throw Golds in to Master level games and expect us to play with a smile on our faces, you rank up so you won't have to put up with that shit show anymore, it doesn't matter about the glory of the rank I myself just want good competitive games, not having to put up 50kills and 20assist just to have a chance. Let us dodge and take the TP loss, sorry for those who have long queue times, but they need to fix the MM.

Hi, I'm going to leave this video of a hacker, I always play with the crossplay off and I don't understand why a hacker comes out without a crossplay. If the video repeats, Reddit repeats it.

At the start of every year developers put out a roadmap of where they are at with their game and what they are planning. But nobody really asks the community what they would like to see for the upcoming year. So I am curious and ask the Paladins community what are your hopes for this upcoming year.

What are your hopes or what changes would you like to see with paladins this upcoming year. The dev's posted their own blog post where they listed a few things they plan on working on including more of "The Hunt" bug fixes, bettering the new player experience with changes to default loadouts and vgs, removal of 3rd person, and a commendation system (which I am kind of excited for!) You can read their full blog post here. https://www.paladins.com/news/dev-blog-season-3-the-past-present-and-future-of-paladins

Personally I would like to see an update/change to the matchmaking, a change to the report/ban system to improve it, and more skins for champions that don't have a lot of skins.

Some smaller priority things I'd like to see if they have the time for is more improvements for the shooting range for better practice, new Halloween and Christmas/winter skins, and better holiday events. With that being said for me I would still like them to fix the bugs of course!

Anyway, I look forward to paladins continued growth and I wish everyone a happy new year!

Couple questions regarding the weird rating gains & placement matches

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 07:25 PM PST

So basically, I play with a full 5 man stack. 3 of us have played before, originally a couple years ago and we came back recently with 2 new players with us. We played mostly casuals until people had better grasp of the game, then played the placements in groups of 2 2 and 1.

Myself and 1 of the "newer" players played our placements together, going 3-2 on the first 3 matches, placed originally into silver 4, kept winning most of the games then got into gold 1. The other duo went 2-3 with their original games and placed at gold 3 instantly (higher than the other 2 originally). The last guy went 2-3 aswell and placed into bronze 3. We then kept playing as a 5 stack, us gold 1s got promoted to plat 3 and the 2 guys at gold 3 got to plat 5, our bronze guy went from bronze 3 to bronze 1.

Me and the other plat 3 guy played some duo ques, staying at the same rank (lose streak after win streak) then the other guy played few more solo games losing most of them without deranking yet. We played some more today, and the current ratings of our stack is something like:

    plat 1

plat 3 (the other guy at plat 1 dropped 2 divisions)

    plat 4

    plat 5

    silver 4

The guy at silver is easily the best performing player, as expected considering he tends to do that in other fps games as well. Wouldn't really worry about it, but considering one of us is few wins away from diamond and thus we can't que as 5 people any more (you need to be atleast plat to que with diamonds right?). But yeah, any idea why we got people skipping 7 divisions, but the best performing guy first got placed to bronze and despite stomping games he skipped 2 divisions max.

Something weird going on, or are there something we are missing? again, outside of the 5 first placement matches, some duo ques by the 2 highest players, few solo que games by the 2nd highest player and few 4 man premade games without the 4th highest player like 90% of the matches we have played have been as 5 man stack. For some reason 1 of us isn't getting as many division jumps despite performing the best in most matches. And we are talking about "bronze" player in a stack full of platinum rated players, so surely he should have skipped to atleast gold by now?

Basically I want to know how we ended up in this situation and how can we avoid it in s3 start, because honestly the game is 10000% more enjoyable with a full stack and it would suck if we'd be unable to que together when the top guys start hitting diamond.

tl;dr - Is it normal that despite playing 90-95% of the ranked matches together, our best performing player is currently placed... 14(?) divisions lower than our highest rated player and keeps jumping 2 divisions max while the others have skipped up to 7 divisions with a single jump?

    Cheers
