    "The question I've seen most often so far has been. "Why can't you just keep the old system as an option?" This was discussed thoroughly between our teams before we even started working on it. Ultimately, we felt that the maintenance of two separate systems will be a significant burden for the team going forward, and would create a large disparity between users – with players having access to different lines and keybinds. This is the style of system that we should have – and would have – implemented, were we given the chance at the game's inception."

    My deconstruction of their response

    They are right, they should have been implemented new VGS since the game's inception but that doesn't change the fact that the majority of their player base have grown to like this style of communication after some YEARS of using it. So to not expect some sort of backlash was rather foolish of them.

    Also, they should give us more insight on why such a thing would be a "significant burden for the team", if it's because of more voices lines then sure take away those voice lines from the old vgs, although it'll be sad to see them go at least I can still communicate with my team.

    As for the "large disparity between users – with players having access to different lines and keybinds." Besides the different voice lines thing that I already addressed, the only "disparity" that will come from the different key binds is some people won't know what VVGG means on r/paladins, it's not that big of an issue and I couldn't find any other issues coming from this.

    In conclusion, if they give a better explanation to why we can't have the old vgs and the new vgs option then maybe their community won't think that they are just being lazy and splitting their community by forcing change because they aren't smart enough to implement change well.

    Edit: I just realized that I completely skipped over the keybinding part, but u/_PlasmaTookus wrote a great counter argument in the comments

    When "A player fails to join", why doesn't matchmaking just find another player, instead of disbanding the entire match?

    I reached level 50 with Tiberius and completed the battle pass in 10 days, now I'm leaving the game until the eventual port for the next gen. VVGL VVGF

    For the love of god, have a block feature that prevents you from playing with a certain player

    I'm tired of having to play solo queue with useless teammates against a party of 3 pub-stomping every single game.

    Add a block feature so that I don't have to play with the exact same people over and over again.

    I'm not saying once you block them they are permanently blocked, maybe set a limit of 5 players and once you exceed that limit the earliest block will get unblocked when you block a new player. Just please add some feature to not make me play against the same exact people over and over again.
