    Understanding Raum Etiquette

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 06:28 PM PDT

As a Drogoz main with Raum as a secondary, I often find myself when standing on a point as Raum, a Raum on the other team will approach and starting shooting at me, which is absolutely fine, but then when the rest of their team show up they start firing at me when I try to 1v1 a Raum, and when this happens me and my friends have sort of made it a joke that they're breaking the code of Raum etiquette, which I've come to make a service announcement that when two Raums are having a 1v1 do not interfere, whether it be damaging the other Raum or helping him, they need to fight to see who can outlast the other and it's rude and disrespectful to the code to interrupt, thank you and have a nice day!

So no more events in Paladins anymore?

There's still a bunch of errors in ability descriptions and it's beginning to bother me.

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 09:35 PM PDT

Last patch, there was a lot of changes during the S3 PTS that went unrecorded in the actual ability descriptions. I shrugged it off and assumed with the insight of the community the misinformation would be corrected in the current live version, but there's still a few description errors that have been around since S3. For example, Astral Mark says that it heals for a flat 250 in both its descriptions. The real number is still 300 (and I think it should be kept that way). This poses a problem where I'm not sure whether or not EM is actively updating their information, or even knows what the original number was supposed to be.

Did they mean to change it to 250, and just forget? Did they keep it at 300, and forget to update the description, after changing it briefly to 250? Is this just a change that nobody even remembers the purpose of any more? To put further emphasis on my point, I'll bring up Ying's balance change to her illusion healing. In the PTS for S3, the healing for Illusion was actually changed to 380 - or so it claims. The numbers were never changed, it's just the description on the PTS that said so. Come the most recent patch notes, Ying's healing was reduced from 420 to 400. This poses the question: was Ying's healing ever 380? Was it 380, but EM didn't remember the change?

How can I know what's what when patch notes and in-game descriptions are so inconsistent? Grohk's ultimate was tweaked to target 3 enemies, but still targets 2 in-game. So some balance decisions are obviously glossed over. So in the case of Makoa, how can I know whether his shield blocks for 4000, like his in-depth description says, or 3750, like the short one does? The patch notes says it was buffed to 4000, but how can I trust that EM went through with the change when other changes didn't pull through and the ability descriptions give me such conflicting information?

The patch notes say Gourd's healing was buffed from 45 per tick to 60. Gourd's healing was never 45. It was 50, but only one of its descriptions said it healed for 45. Did EM literally forget their own changes? Do they even know their own numbers?

Sorry that this came out a bit rant-y, but I would really appreciate it if EM combed through their descriptions to prevent any further misinformation next patch.

    Infinite siege match.

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 10:51 PM PDT

Just had a siege match on bazaar bug out in a interesting way. While pushing the objective on the final turn of the map we noticed it was moving backwards while our whole team was on it. As time counted down it didn't go into overtime and we failed the push. I assumed it was a bug that would be for that round only, I was wrong. Start next round and it's the same thing, our team and the enemy are both on point and the enemy is securing still. We can't do anything so we just start playing for kills expecting to lose. Well same thing happens to the enemy team when the payload gets to the final turn. They fail the push and its tied 3 to 3. Now the game will not register anyone from either team on point so we just get locked in a endless game of siege turned TDM lol

Please give Seris a bit more utility

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 10:14 PM PDT

Seris has never been a top tier pick and a big reason to that is she has almost nothing to provide for the team apart from her healing. She excels at group healing and her survivability is really good, but that's all. I don't even try to healbot with her, I spam M1 whenever I can but it just feels so powerless. She's not like Ying or Furia where you can have both healing and damage at the same time. When you want to damage as Seris, you sacrifice a lot of your healing. Even other supports such as Grover and Pip can do this a lot better than her. This is why Jenos is a top tier support. He's not only a healer, but a full fledged support. He sets up plays for his team, he has a damage boost, a sustain heal, and he can inflict so much damage. You can't really say that much about Seris. The only other utility she has is her ult, but if you can only set up plays for your team once or twice a round, it's not really that good is it?

Why not give Seris a slow in her base kit? 4 stacks of her M1, press Q, the enemy will be slowed by 50%. They don't want to give her base kit a stun sure, but give her something man. I don't want her to be as bad as Grohk please.

Why do People Smurf? For Harassment? Trolling?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 03:11 PM PDT

This is probably not worth a post, but what is the deal with supposed "smurfs" who play Ranked (or even Casual) in order to harass others? I had a rather interesting run-in with a Cassie smurf and her pocketing Seris who, finally, were faced with a competent team. I was playing as Vivian and promptly after their loss, the Cassie began hurling hack accusations towards me.

Apparently the Cassie was a supposed Grandmaster who should be crushing everyone on their current smurf account, and that the reason I would pick Vivian was because I was aimbotting. If you're wondering, "What?" I, too, am equally befuddled.

Flattering but obnoxious. However, last night I also ran into another duo with a similar rant who would begin swearing at enemies and bragging about smurfing.

So this made me wonder, why do people smurf? For those who do it--and please be honest as I want a discussion--why? Is it to truly troll and harass others, to have fun, and so forth. Especially with running into four individuals who seem to be doing so within just two days, it blows me away.
