After a month and a half playing Paladins, I played the game that made me love it.
It's a casual game and everyone was giving it his all, everyone was happy even the losing team. Good teammates make you get better. I wish that matchmaking would always be generous and give me games like these

Lets talk: Players...Do you love Paladins, or do you love the idea of Paladins?

I have some in real life friends who have been playing this game for a little over a year and I have played over 3 myself. My friends are addicted to the game but they spend literally 90% of the time frustrated. Since I have played so long I have felt those emotions in the past and now i can quantify them as i watch them pursue their ranked goals as I have retired. I think players go in and compete in ranked looking to rank up, but ultimately end up raging and blaming their teammates for their lack of success, but that's not the only reason you play.

Paladins imposes the most perplexing of feelings on you all at once, especially when trying to rank up. You literally spend majority of the game angry, irritated or stressed out, yet win or lose you keep playing. Why is that? It's because while that 90% of the you time spent upset, that 10% shot of pure dopamine from winning you get overwhelms any feeling from that 90% at least until the next game starts so you're hooked. I then ask, why do you play a game that literally makes you unhappy majority of the time? It's because you are enamored and intrigued with the idea and possibility of having a competitive completely competent balanced good close match. The match doesn't come often, some may even call it rare, but everyone has experienced a good solid all around match that made you think man this is fun win or lose we are all playing right and competing this game is great. Getting stomped out or stomping out especially after a long queue is not fun, but competing in competent fashion is.

Non-ranked players, why do you enjoy to play? Is it the character designs, the community or just the gameplay itself?

I was planning on getting my battle pass tier to 120 then buying it for the crystals I got from it (I did the math and it reached 600) but now I think they changed it bc it doesn't even reach 500 now.
