Ok I've been wanting to do this for a while now and I think this is the main reason paladins is suffering nowadays

Paladins as a game is ok.... (lacks new modes, lacks new features, lack events but that's not what we're here to talk about cause if you just started playing it it's still working as a game should, it's fun it has some modes, it has interesting characters and cool mechanics), but there is one thing that's missing a lot from this game, transparency...

EM has been developing paladins for quite a while and I'll give credit where it's due, the servers got much better recently, the console versions are more stable, a lot of glitches have been fixed (of course new ones also appeared but they are being solved.... slowly but they are fixing), and the change to the way you get free crystals, I LOVE that you get crystals by playing now and this is my favorite recent change of paladins, but there's the real problem with EM nowadays, transparency, many of the discontinued Hirez games had constant complains of players leaving cause they felt their game was abandoned, paladins is sort of following the same path, we have no idea of what EM is doing and what the future holds for paladins?

Paladins has been receiving new champions, new skins and more battle pass of course but that's not enough, we the players need more than that to keep interest, I have plenty of friends who left the game based only on stagnation and other friends who tried the game sometimes but didn't see any reason to keep playing after, I'm not asking to bring new modes and fix the entire game at the same time cause i know you're not a giant studio, nor to bring back old modes like payload as you said that it's not coming back, but seriously just give us something to look forward to.

My solution... I have some....

Community surveys, when starting the game put some surveys for the users to choose or make surveys on the twitter/reddit so people can give you feedback, I loved when you let us chose what champions would get new skins, that was absolutely amazing, and we as a community really felt like we were communicating with the development team, so do more of those, not just for new skins but for everything, Em will make some changes to the game structure... survey Em will add a new mode.... survey.... Em will rebalance a character... survey... whatever you're going to do, make sure to get more community feedback, so if any of the EM representatives see this, thank you for the ones you made already but do more of those
A well established Road map, like seriously, we have no idea what EM is doing, we know they are fixing bugs... we know they announced the amount of champions that will come out this year and the amount of battle pass we will have, but we need a more established road map, one that we can share and look forward to, it doesn't even need to have proper dates, just let us know what you're planing and what's the future for paladins.... and i don't mean just new characters and BP, i mean new features (maybe events and modes if they ever decide to bring them back)
let us know of the progress of certain changes, one example i can think of are the new champion splash art, you released a lot of those some time ago and they looked amazing.... then they were just gone.... we have no idea how far they went into development or if they will ever be implemented, we simply don't know, and by not telling us what they are doing, it leaves us with the felling that they ether stopped making them and wasted time on it's an unused change, or they are making it and we have no idea how much we'll have to wait, and if they are going to make a change just like remove X feature (like the POTM or the death camera) make sure to let us know WHY did you do it, show us which fixes this will bring to the game

I have some other ideas but these are mostly to make the game better, for example

better lore (the lore of paladins is great just really shallow, there are so many interesting characters which are barely explored and the better the lore is, the more you can expand it so more ideas for modes... new spin off games and more ways to monetize it, cause for now the lore is a giant ocean with 2 cm deep.... maybe with comics videos and events you could show us more of the world of paladins)
better quality of life changes specially for ranked, for example letting us show the team what class of champion we want to play
bigger punishment for toxicity or dropping matches (the amount of times people told me to go f myself and dropped/trolled mid match because of many reasons is incredibly high)
more map rotations
decrease the price of champions, this is extremely hard for new players, i had people drop the game just because of this
bring back old content.... like old musics for example the Ascension peak music (i would pay a 1000 crystals for that music) old game modes like those you used for events like the abyss one, the inani one (payload is not coming back but i can dream with it) the atlas one, all of these are already finished, you don't even need to update them just put then into the game and let them like they are, people may not use them a lot but they'll always be there for people who want to do something different from time to time, you could even lock them on personalized matches, i wouldn't care, the games just needs more variety

So in my opinion the biggest problem with paladins right now is transparency, the community is feeling abandoned, and for this reason people are leaving and not spending money, I myself an afraid to spend money on this game right now, I simply don't know what the future holds for paladins, so if I spend now how can I trust the game won't be shut down in a year, and what incentive do i have to spend money on it? events always got me hyped to spend money, if i wanted to get the top skin i ether had to play daily and pray i had crystals or i had to buy them.... nowadays i just buy the battlepass when i like the skins and when I finish it.... I'm done.... i ether go back to ranked or i play other games, don't get me wrong i really like the BP it's just that it would be even better if we also had events, the sad part is i can think of so many new modes that could be implemented on paladins, so many smaller changes that could be done but i simply don't feel like there is any reliable way to tell EM without it being left to dust on a random e-mail, website or discord server, communication is key and paladins lost theirs, thanks for reading.... and this text ended up HUGE

TL;DR: EM needs to listen to the community, do more surveys, more events, etc. And not only that they actually need to let us know the progress of their changes/status of the development, communication is the key to make paladins a better game

I miss payload

I really miss playing payload, especially the maps. I can understand why the developers scrapped it, but I think a lot of people also really enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed the variety of maps that it offered and the strategies that went with them. With all the new characters it might be more interesting now. It would be really nice if the developers would consider bringing it back for a limited time like other games do.

Why dose a loss take away twice as many tier points as when I when. Going 500. Just takes me down?? Its only worse when combined with the fact that rank requirements mean I'm constantly having to teach the game to my team mates cause rank requirements are way too low. There is no God damn reason for competitive to be this way
