Every map in Paladins was designed with stronger tanks in mind Posted: 25 Mar 2020 03:33 PM PDT Did Evil Mojo realize this when they gutted tanks in season 3? Sure, I can still tank. Good tank mains can still do the job, but the average tank fill is one wasted cool down away from a very quick death. It has become so easy for a tank to be over extended now. If the team falls back, and the point tank doesn't notice immediately, he gets focused down in a second. This didn't happen before because tanks had higher shields and enough damage to duel. The large distance between the capture point and back line cover makes escape impossible for a tank under fire. If your dps is camping deep in your back line, it's over. I expect tanks in season 3 to have the worst adoption rates for new players out of any period in Paladins. We already have a huge population of last pick "I'm going damage" guys in ranked. It's going to get even worse. For season 3 balance to work, we need added cover near the point on most if not all maps. Not full walls, just some kind of partial cover off the point but very close. Of course, this would take forever to implement, and I don't think anyone really wants this added anyway. This is just another reason season 3 balance was ill conceived. You didn't even think about map design. [link] [comments] |
