Buck's cards: What you should and shouldn't be using

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:19 PM PDT

This guide will go over all of Buck's cards and how or if they should be used.

    Recovery

Deep Breath: Reduce your damage taken by {6|6}% for 2s after using Recovery.

This card is most often used in Bulk Up loadouts at around lvl 4. Outside of that I wouldn't use it much.

Giga Siphon: Increase your Movement Speed by {10|10}% while Recovery is active.

Why would you use this? Recovery only lasts 1.5 seconds. You would be better off running Gotcha.

Reconstruction: Reduce the Cooldown of Recovery by {1|1}s.

This is a mandatory lvl 5 card in Bulk Up loadouts. Works as a lvl 1 filler with Ensnare or Bounce House

Vigor: Regenerate 1 Ammo every 0.5s for {0.5|0.5}s after activating Recovery.

This is a nice filler card. No reason to go past lvl 1.

    Heroic Leap

Exhilarate: Reduce the Cooldown of Heroic Leap by {1|1}s if you hit a champion with it.

This card at lvl 2 combined with Stomping Ground at lvl 5 gives you an instant leap reset if you get a kill with Bounce House. I'd recommend putting this in your Bounce House loadouts only.

Leg Day: Increase the jump strength of Heroic Leap by {5|5}%.

A good lvl 1 or 2 filler card. If you really want jump strength I wouldn't go higher than lvl 3, mainly because you won't need more than that but also because most builds can't afford having it at lvl 4 or 5.

Momentum: Reduce your damage taken by {6|6}% for 4s after using Heroic Leap.

This is an amazing card that can be used in any loadout. Lvl 5 for Bounce House and lvl 4 for Bulk Up/Ensnare.

Seismic Wave: Reduce the Cooldown of Heroic Leap by {0.5|0.5}s.

Not the best card for Buck. If you are playing Bounce House you should rely on Stomping Ground and Exhilarate to reduce your leap cooldown, not this.

    Net Shot

Bully: Gain {12|12}% Lifesteal against targets Slowed by Net Shot.

This card is not as good as you would think. You get a lot of value from it early game but mid to late game it's just wasted space in your loadout. Personally I wouldn't use this at all even in Ensnare loadouts.

Concussion: Reduce the Cooldown of Net Shot by {1|1}s.

Mandatory lvl 5 card in Ensnare loadouts. Not that useful in other loadouts.

Gotcha: Increase your Movement Speed by {10|10}% for 3s after using Net Shot.

This is my favorite card for Buck. Good at lvl 4 in Ensnare loadouts, but can be replaced with Momentum if you want some damage reduction instead of extra movement speed.

Tangled: Increase the duration of Net Shot by {0.3|0.3}s.

This card is pretty bad. You would think that it works well with Ensnare, but at lvl 5 it only gives you 1 extra bonus damage shot that you don't even need. By default you get 3 bonus damage shots with Ensnare, which is all you need to kill anyone that isn't a tank. And even if you do need a fourth shot to kill someone, it's most likely because they have a small amount of health remaining at which point the bonus damage doesn't matter. Don't use this card

    Armor/Weapon

No escape: Increase your Movement Speed by {5|5}% for 5s after getting a Killing Blow or Elimination.

No reason to use this when Gotcha exists. Bad card.

Rapid Sustain: Increase your Healing received by {5|5}% while at or below 50% Health.

I see a lot of Bucks run this at around lvl 4 in their Bulk Up loadouts, but personally I'm not a fan. I tested this at lvl 4 with Bulk Up and I was only getting about 150 or so extra healing when I was below 50% health. I'd much rather use Momentum at lvl 4 instead of this because in my eyes 24% damage reduction has more value than the small amount of extra healing you get from this card. If you have success with running this card though, then by all means keep using it. There are definitely worse cards you could have in your loadout.

Stomping Ground: Reduce all active Cooldowns by {15|15}% after getting a Killing Blow.

This card is what makes Bounce House work. Use at lvl 5. If you aren't playing Bounce House then this can also work as lvl 1 or 2 filler card.

Street Sweeper: Increase your Reload Speed by {5|5}%.

Buck doesn't need extra reload speed, and if you really want it you could just buy deft hands as your third or fourth item in a match. Bad card.

    What I'm using

    Bounce House:

    Stomping Ground 5

    Momentum 5

    Exhilarate 2

    Leg Day 2

    Reconstruction 1

    Ensnare:

    Concussion 5

Gotcha 5 (Just because it's fun. This probably belongs at lvl 4)

    Leg Day 2

    Stomping Ground 2

    Reconstruction 1

    Bulk Up:

    Reconstruction 5

    Deep Breath 4

    Momentum 4

    Stomping Ground 1

    Leg Day 1

    Bit upset

Yo I don't want to be toxic, but I'm really kinda annoying that people go into ranked with a level 0 or 1 champion. I just participated in a game (i'm in Platinum 1) with everyone level 0-2. Like wtf I understand when a tank is needed and your main tank is already taken but a whole team under level 4? There are too many time people just don't care and troll.
