Posted: 03 Dec 2020 11:06 PM PST I notice a lot of the bigger problematic characters in the current meta tend to be hitscan and a lot of this has to do with how rewarding headshot damage really is + fire rate of hitscan champions. The insane damage output a lot of champions get from headshots is nuts, way higher than any other champion in the same class... And thinking about it some more. A lot of hitscan champions that are very deadly on console is due to headshots. A lot of champions, be it Pip, Barik, Makoa, etc are hurt a lot due to headshots (this even includes Drogoz though hitscan in general just hurts him). A lot of the bursty hitscan champions like Kinessa, Androxus, and Buck? Are bursty because of headshots specifically... And some champions, like Khan, can get much needed love and buffs after a nerf to headshot bonus because EM will have a stronger desire to buff some hitscan champions who are in a low spot right now, and will be even lower after such a nerf... On top of that, a nerf like this will mostly applied to higher tier matches, console matches, and also nerf aimbot hackers on top of that... It won't have too much of a direct impact on the bigger playerbase on PC as headshots aren't as common there (lucky you guys btw)... So, yeah. I think toning down headshot damage can be what is needed right now to help deal with a lot of the hitscan burst we are living in and help a lot on the console side of things without needing to nerf those champions directly...
